One Week to Blast-off

Well, I have one week until I board my flight to PANAMA!! The planning started ten months ago when I was exposed to the idea of an exploratory trip to Latin America to evaluate the possibility of retiring in a lower cost of living country.

The first country to pop up in that research was Costa Rica. I followed many YouTube channels and read as many travel and relocation blogs as possible on the subject. As I continued to dig into the details, other countries came up as good options. I finalized my research ranking my top 6 countries in this order:

  1. Panama
  2. Mexico
  3. Costa Rica
  4. Ecuador
  5. Guatemala
  6. Columbia

So for this first exploratory trip, I have scheduled 18 days in Panama, spending most of that time in the mountain communities of Boquete and Volcan. Still, I set aside a three-day trip to Pedasi in the Azuero Peninsula. Then on to Mexico for 42 days splitting time between Queretaro and Puebla.
